Zion National Park - Angel's Landing/The Subway

In desperate need of an adventure, we got our friends, Milla and Austin, to head down to Zion National Park. We ended up hiking Angel's landing one day (in 104 degree weather - let's not talk about it) and The Subway the next day.

Both of these hikes are a MUST but The Subway quickly became one of our FAVORITE hikes! It's super adventurous and way fun.

Angel's Landing

You are literally climbing on the ridge of this cliff with sheer drops on either side of you. You're definitely grateful for the chains to hang on to...

Here's the ridge you climb along

The Subway

We asked some fellow hikers to take a picture...so they did. Of themselves. Thanks guys.

Before we dropped into the canyons!

So the Subway is cool because you are hiking/swimming through the river for several miles plus you get to rappel down a couple waterfalls and boulders. In one spot you can swim under the boulder too. Waayyy cool.

Milla and Austin! So great to hike with.

The water is suuuupppeeer cold, but there's no way to get around it.

The waterfall room!!

THE SHOT of the hike! It's hard to see but there are 5 or 6 little wading pools in here.

Towards the end of the hike there are natural waterslides!

It is one of the most beautiful hikes I've ever been on. You feel so accomplished when the canyon opens up and all you have left is the switchbacks out of the canyon. Oh wait. That was the HARDEST part of the hike (just cause you're so exhausted by that point)!

If you're going to do this hike, take a good map so you drop in at the right spot (unless you're ok with rappelling 100 feet instead of 20)! Oh and look for the dinosaur fossils before you head up the switchbacks!

Or give us a call...we'd totally go again. Seriously.
