after a very rocky four hour ferry ride, we made it across the bay to the lofoten peninsula. we rented a car and between svolvær and reine i think we said "wow" about 4210987 times. the road twisted and turned with steep mountains on one side and lakes on the other. every new turn brought a new breathtaking view, seemingly more beautiful than the last. the red fishing huts against the white mountains were just as picturesque as i had imagined. we felt like we had discovered a secret. why hadn't norway been on our radar? i mean, they call atm machines mini banks after all!
we fell in love with norway, and could see ourselves camping along parts of this same peninsula during the summer, but this trip will forever remain one of our most special.
